Life workshops are quite simple. We all have things that we would like to learn but we haven’t always taken the time to do so! These workshops are designed around a variety of life topics that are taught in a non-judgmental environment with others who would like to learn as well. The overall purpose of these workshops are to connect with families that we serve and get an opportunity to know them and teach them new skills.
Please reach us at driddell@calvarycommunity.cc if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We are curating a list currently of topics that we believe would be helpful to people. Some topic ideas that have come up so far (but are not limited to): how to build a family budget, how to cook on a budget, how to establish an easy exercise routine at home and stick with it!, how to learn CPR/and or first aid, how to paint with watercolors, how to keep your kids and teens safe on the internet and social media, how to sew (or hem your pants) and other practical and helpful sewing techniques that do not require a machine!, how to build a vegetable garden on your porch or deck, how to create healthy meals for yourself or your family, etc.
Workshops will occur on the first Saturday of each month, at 10am and will last no longer than 90 minutes in most cases. The Venture Food Pantry is open each Saturday as well from 10am – 1pm, as well as various other church activities so there will be others in the church during this time.
Yes, participants will need to register ahead of time. Space will be limited to likely no more than 15 – 20 individuals at a time. With current restrictions in mind, we will try to hold some classes outside in better weather. Registration will be made available online or by calling the Calvary office when the food pantry is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am – 1pm.
Yes! That’s the great part about these classes. They are for ANYONE who would like to learn about the specific topic that is being covered. In most cases we invite folks to come as they are with an open mind to learn something new! Children grades 3 and older may attend with a parent or guardian. At this time we do not plan to offer childcare but that maybe expanded in the future.
